“A Time of Transition”
Back then, paper was still the norm, though little by little, everything was beginning to move online.
I was involved in a children’s reading marathon event, and as part of it, I built a small web-based tool.
The technology at the time was very simple—just JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Looking back now, the structure feels deeply nostalgic.
It was a period when print was still dominant, while digital systems were only beginning to emerge.
This project felt as though it existed somewhere in the middle of that transition.
The event only lasted through the summer, and during that time, I was almost constantly attached to the system.
Even while on vacation, I stayed alert—checking whether everything was running properly, watching for errors, and making sure I could quickly respond to questions from parents.
It was demanding work, but the sense of accomplishment I felt when the event finished successfully was enormous.
If possible, I remember wishing I could continue it as it was.
But eventually, the project came to a close.
It quietly ended, having fulfilled its role.
At the time, it felt less like “something ending,” and more like gently closing a lid over a collection of memories.
And yet, it remained somewhere in the back of my mind.
Someday, when I had the time, I wanted to bring the system back to life again—
That was something I kept thinking about throughout the past ten years.
And this time, I was finally able to bring it back.
Without question, it feels like the right return.
